Q.
Should I take
Arthro-Aid before or after food?
A.
You can take Arthro-Aid before or after food. It is best to take it
approximately the same time every day.
TOP
Q.
Do I have to take
2 capsules every day?
A.
Research has proven that you need 1500mg a day, so it is very
important to take 2 capsules a day.
TOP
Q.
Can I take more
than 2 capsules a day?
A.
You can safely take more than two capsules a day. In fact if your
arthritis is severe we suggest that when you start taking Arthro-Aid
you take three capsules a day - morning - midday - evening. This is
termeda loading dose. Continue this for 7-10 days then drop back to
the 2 capsules per day.
Q.
When will I start
to feel the effects?
A.
In most cases, it takes 3-6 weeks before you start to feel the
benefits.
TOP
Q.
If I have an
allergic reaction to eating seafood can I take Arthro-Aid?
A.
Arthro-Aid has been D-Natured, and subjected to purification methods
in achieving 99% purity. If you suffer an extreme allergic reaction
when eating seafood, it is suggested you don't take it.
TOP
Q.
Is there any contraindications
with any medications?
A. There
are no known contraindications with any medications, however it
is recommended you consult with you health care adviser.
Warfarin
There
are no reports in the literature of an interaction between glucosamine
and warfarin. There is no particular reason why glucosamine should
interact with warfarin since it is not metabolised by the cytochrome
P450 system, but is instead broken down in general metabolism via
the carbohydrate pathways. The serum level of glucosamine is very
low even immediately following a dose, so a direct interaction is
also unlikely. Our in-house experience with glucosamine adverse
reactions has not (to date) involved a case of warfarin sensitivity.
Finally, in many clinical trials no such interaction has been reported.
Again, if in doubt it
is recommended you consult with you health care adviser.
TOP
Q.
Are there any side effects?
A. Minor
stomach upsets; loose bowel, have been recorded in clinical trials.
Symptoms dissapeared after a couple of days. The incidence was less
than 2% so the above are not common.
TOP
Q.
Once I feel better
can I stop taking Arthro-Aid?
A.
It is very important that you keep taking Arthro-Aid if you stop you
will feel great for a period but the symptoms will return.
TOP
Q.
I have been taking
Arthro-Aid Arthro-Aid for 4 weeks and nothing is happening!
A.
Increase the dose to 3 capsules per day. (Morning-midday-evening).
Research in North America has shown that some people need more than
1500gm per day. Continue treatment for another 4-6 weeks.
TOP
Q.
I am a diabetic
can I take Arthro-Aid?
A. If
you are an extremely insulin dependant diabetic it is suggested you
consult your medical adviser before beginning any treatment.
TOP
Q.
Will Arthro-Aid
help my Rheumatoid Arthritis?
A. Arthro-Aid
will benefit people with Osteoarthritis; all of the clinical studies
have been focused on people with OA. The primary function of
Arthro-Aid is to regenerate cartilage and synovial fluid which in
turn relieves pain and improves mobility. This may be of benefit to
those with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
TOP
Q.
Hydrochloride v's
Sulphate
A.
The Hydrochloride was chosen over the sulphate because of purity,
bioavailability, and stability. It contains 40% more active Glucosamine.
TOP
Q.
What do the Aust R
and Aust L numbers mean?
A. They
show that the medicines are accepted by the Therapeutic Goods
Administration for supply in Australia and are included in the
Register. The number is printed on the outer packaging so that it
can be seen easily.
AUST R medicines are
assessed for safety, quality, and effectiveness. They include all
prescription only medicines and many over-the-counter products such
as those for pain relief, cough, and colds and antiseptic creams.
Prescription only medicines do not display their purpose on the
label as the decision for them lies with the doctor; however,
over-the-counter medicines must have a purpose displayed.
AUST L medicines are
much lower risk self-medication products. They are used for minor
health problems and are reviewed for safety and quality. They
include sunscreens over SPF4 and many vitamin, mineral, herbal and
homopathic products. A purpose must be included on the label.

Q.
Can I give
Arthro-Aid to my cat/dog?
A.
Yes. Arthro-Aid is safe to give to dogs and cats. Capsules can be
opened and sprinkled on to food or capsules can be given as they
are.
TOP
Q.
If I have
cartilage removed or reduced through surgery, will Arthro-Aid
help?
A.
Arthro-Aid is very useful as a Post Operative treatment. It has been
proven to speed up the healing process and of course will help
promote cartilage health on an ongoing basis. If all of the
cartilage has been removed it may help improve the quality of the
Synovial fluid but will not promote cartilage regrowth.
TOP
Q. Does
Arthro-Aid contain salt?
A.
Unlike the Glucosamine sulfate products there is no salt in
Arthro-Aid.
TOP
Q.
Does
Arthro-Aid contain Gluten?
A.
No. The capsules are totally gluten free.
